  Bethel Baptist Church is a strong Southern Baptist Convention congregation. Founded in 1867, they have provided a continued spiritual influence to the surrounding countryside. Sounded by a sacred burial ground of many of the church members ancestors, this congregation is also in fellowship with the Williamson Baptist Association and the Illinois Baptist State Association.
